On September 7, 2008 my identical twin brother passed away. Don was in Northern California and I was in Illinois. I got the call and we exchanged text messages and then I called him and got him to go to the hospital. He drove himself to the emergency room and I talked to him as he drove, and once on the inside. Forty-five minutes I got a call from a nurse that he died in the emergency room of what was later determined as a heart attack.
That was the worst day of my life, and for the next year I recorded my thoughts and feelings and how his death impacted me. The book is titled Who Moved the Sun, A Twin Remembers.
The purpose is to help other twins who find themselves in this situation. It is also meant to help the spouses of twins as well as their parents and friends understand this mystery of a bond that starts in the womb, but never ends, as I am still a twin, and I will be for as long as I live. When I die, then I will be with my bother, and my life will be complete.
